Biplab Kumer Sarker received his M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Vinnitsa National Technical University, Ukraine in 1995 under the scholarship of Ministry of Education, Ex.USSR. He was a Lecturer (from Febuary 1996-August 1998) and Assistant Professor (From September 1998- August 2001) in the Department of Computer Science, Institute of Science & Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He obtained his Ph.D from the Department of Computer Engineering, Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, India under the ICCR scholarship, Government of India in 2002. From December 2001, he was a Visiting Researcher in the Research center for Urban Safety and Security, Kobe University , Japan. He was held as Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kobe University, Japan from April, 2003 to March 2004. He joined to the KDE laboratory, Institute of Information Science and Electronics, Tsukuba University, Japan from July 1st, 2004. From February 1st, 2005, he started working in the faculty of Computer Science, University of New Brunswick, Canada.
